The Iwona and Bjarne Rieber Charitable Foundation
The Iwona and Bjarne Rieber Charitable Foundation was established in 2006, when Bjarne Rieber turned 70, and it is dedicated to serving charitable purposes. These include, but are not limited to, cultural, scientific, and humanitarian purposes. The foundation can make distributions in Norway and internationally, and projects and institutions engaged in activities within the foundation’s purposes may also be supported.
Iwona (b. 1954) and Bjarne Rieber (b. 1936) have throughout their lives had a strong interest and hearts that beat for art and culture. They wish to share this passion, and they are committed to both enabling the practice of art and making the experience of it accessible.

Among many generous initiatives for the benefit of the population of Bergen and the international cultural scene is their sponsorship of the Bergen International Festival, KODE, and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to their support, the couple also has an admirable commitment to promoting socially enriching cultural activity. For example, Yvonne served for many years as a board member of the renowned American dance ensemble, the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Applications are processed annually and must be submitted to the foundation by May 10th each year. You are welcome to fill out the form below to receive details on where to send the application. The foundation prefers that support is sought for specified purposes and/or projects.
